Concert Streaming Platform by lookin’ Friday

livyu (2015-2018)

Our role: Concept & creative direction, platform development, full production (multi-cam/audio), postproduction, branding & design, rights management, go-to-market strategy.

Overview

With livyu, we created our first fully independent, creatively led platform:
A concert streaming service for pay-per-view and subscription shows.
The goal: to show live music cinematically — not like TV broadcasts, but immersive, filmic, and close to the culture.
Beyond the shows, livyu offered exclusive access — backstage insights, pre-show rituals, short documentaries, and even early 360°/VR experiments.

To our knowledge, one of the first concert streaming platforms in Europe to systematically monetize live shows through pay-per-view and subscription — while setting a new cinematic benchmark for how live music can look and feel online.

Starting Point
& Ambition

We’re music lovers — born from events, culture, and the scene — and we wanted to bring the live experience online without sacrificing quality.
Breaking away from linear TV aesthetics: cinematic ARRI camera setups and film-style optics.
Added value beyond the stream: stories around the artists — from backstage to encore.

Product & Business Model

Platform: Proprietary portal with pay-per-view and subscription models; concerts available on-demand after the live show.

Content formats:
– Multi-cam live concert recordings
– Behind-the-scenes & backstage pieces, short docs
– Artist portraits & interviews
– Experiments in 360°/VR

Rights & Deals: Negotiations with major labels and artist managements; fair revenue-share models for transparent payouts.

Production
& Tech Setup

Cameras & Optics: ARRI systems for cinematic quality (multi-cam and mobile rigs).
Audio: Concert-grade recording and mixing for both live and VOD use.
Graphics & CI: Complete on-air design package (lower thirds, openers/outros, transitions, overlays), platform branding, and web design.
Workflow: Live capture → postproduction (color/sound/finish) → platform publishing (PPV/subscription).

Platform Experience
& Bonus Content

Pre-show / backstage: What happens in the minutes before showtime — rituals, focus, tension — captured authentically.
Mini documentaries: Artist journeys, tour moments, creative processes.
360°/VR pilotings: Testing new perspectives, pushing immersive storytelling forward.

Impact

Setting a new standard: Redefining how digital concert experiences can feel beyond classic TV formats.
Culture over surface: Streams that merge scene credibility with cinematic excellence.
Industry signal: Monetization works when quality, storytelling, and rights models are aligned.
For lookin’ Friday: A milestone — sharpening our DNA (music × film × culture) and paving our way into the music and live-event world.
